Dead by April group

Dead by April is a Swedish metalcore band from Gothenburg, formed in February 2007 by Pontus Hjelm and Jimmie Strimell. The current band lineup consists of Pontus Hjelm (vocals/guitar/keys), Marcus Wesslén (bass), Marcus Rosell (drums), and Jimmie Strimell (clean/unclean vocals). They released their self-titled debut album in May 2009. Despite many line up changes throughout their career, both bassist Marcus Wesslén and lead guitarist/current clean vocalist Pontus Hjelm have remained consistent since their debut album.

Jimmy Strimmel

Jimmie Strimmel

Jimmie Strimell (born 3 December 1980) is a Swedish guitarist, singer and composer. He was the founding member, vocalist and main composer of Dead by April until March 2013. He also worked with Nightrage, Dragonland, Despite, Cipher System, Ends With A Bullet and My Collapse. After leaving Dead by April, Strimell rejoined Nightrage for their tour of Japan. Strimell rejoined Dead by April in April 2017 as a session vocalist, shortly after Christoffer Andersson's departure from the band.

Pontus Hjelm

Pontus Hjelm

Heavy metal musician and songwriter who rose to fame as a member of the band Dead by April. In early 2012, he and the band competed in the annual Melodifestivalen competition finishing in seventh place. He was a member of the band Cipher System prior to joining Dead by April.

Marcus Wesslen

Marcus Wesslen

Bassist and backing vocalist who became a member of the Swedish metalcore band Dead by April in 2008. He and the band have won devoted fans with releases like Dead by April (2009), Incomparable (2011) and Let the World Know (2014), all of which cracked the top five on the Swedish album charts.

Marcus Rosell

Marcus Rosell

Drummer who replaced Alexander Svenningson as the drummer for the Swedish metalcore act Dead By April in 2013. He also performed with such bands as Humanity's Last Breath, Nightrage and Ends With a Bullet.
